AI-based network security software
Software that learns an organisation's normal network behaviour and flags deviations from it.
Understanding AI-based network security software in VCE Cyber Security
What it does: This describes exactly what a behavioural baseline is. AI tools can flag threats by spotting unusual behaviour, not just signatures. It builds a baseline of normal activity to compare against. It flags deviations from learned patterns, not just known signatures. Darktrace is a well-known AI-driven security tool. Deviations from normal behaviour are flagged for review. Behavioural detection can catch threats without a known signature. It actively monitors traffic to build its baseline.
Common mistakes: AI security tools do learn normal patterns to spot deviations. AI tools do monitor traffic; they don't ignore it.
