How does an AI actually work?
AI learns patterns from large amounts of training data, then uses those patterns to make predictions or generate content.
Understanding How does an AI actually work? in Issues in Technology
What it does: This whole process is called machine learning. AI uses learned patterns to make predictions. AI is trained by learning patterns from huge amounts of data. Predictions come from patterns, not random chance. More quality training data often helps AI learn better patterns. Finding patterns is central to how AI makes predictions. Patterns are what AI looks for while learning. AI predictions are based on patterns, not randomness.
Common mistakes: AI does learn from data - that's the whole point of training. Training data does teach the AI patterns, not nothing.
