Tracking task progress
A table or board that lists each task with its owner and status (Not started, In progress or Done), so the team can see who is doing what and how the project is going.
Understanding Tracking task progress in Years 7–8 Data & Information
What it does: Each task sits in the column for its status, so the board shows at a glance how the project is going. A tracker row lists the task, its owner and its status so everyone can see who is doing what. A drop-down keeps the choices consistent, so the team can quickly scan and count tasks. Keep finished tasks in the tracker and mark them Done. This shows the team's progress. Tasks move across the board in order: To do, then Doing, then Done. Every task needs an owner. Without one, nobody knows who should start it. A tracker only helps when the statuses are honest and up to date. Teams use it to decide what to do next.
Common mistakes: The columns are in the wrong order. The header says Owner then Status, so this row should be Poster | Mia | In progress. The status must be one of the agreed choices: Not started, In progress or Done. 'Finished' is not one of them. It should be Survey | Noah | In progress.
