Roles and responsibilities in a team project
Each member of a team project takes a role with agreed jobs, so the work is shared fairly and nothing gets missed.
Understanding Roles and responsibilities in a team project in Years 7–8 Data & Information
What it does: A clear update in the group chat shows your role is being done and lets others plan their own jobs. Respectful talk and checking the agreed roles helps a team settle disagreements fairly. Giving each member a clear role means the work is shared fairly and nothing is missed. A team agreement is made by the group. It says who does what and how you will work together. When responsibilities are not agreed, tasks can be missed. Every job needs an owner. A clear, polite message says what you did, where it is, and what you need next. Resolving disagreements means listening, discussing and finding a fair solution together.
Common mistakes: Ben is the Tester, but his job is now the same as Mia's. Two people doing one job means the testing gets missed. It should be 'Ben = Tester: checks links'. Ava agreed to do the slides, so this reply breaks the team agreement and is disrespectful. It should be 'Ava: Slides ready, please check.'.
