The 13 key terms

1task breakdown
Splitting a whole project into small tasks, each with a clear outcome, a time estimate and an order (dependencies), so you can track progress as the work gets done.
2Gantt chart
A project management tool that shows tasks and their timeframes as horizontal bars along a timeline
3milestone
A marked checkpoint in a project plan, such as a finished prototype, showing a major piece of work is complete by its deadline. Used to check progress.
4Kanban board
A board where each task is a card that moves through columns like To do, Doing and Done, so the whole team can see the project's status at a glance.
5role
A job given to one team member with set tasks they are responsible for, so no task is missed and no two people do the same work twice.
6Constraints and scope
The limits on a project (constraints, like time or budget) and the boundaries of what the solution will and won't include (scope)
7project risk
Something that might go wrong and harm a project plan, such as a late deadline, a tool failing or a team member being absent. Risks are listed before they happen.
8risk register
A table listing each project risk with its likelihood, impact and planned response (like backups), so the team can tackle the biggest risks first and review them often.
9Proof-of-concept, Prototype, Product
Three progressive stages of solution development: proof-of-concept tests feasibility, prototype demonstrates function, and product is the final polished release
10iterative project
A project done in short repeating cycles of plan, build, test and review. Feedback from each cycle is used to update the task list and schedule for the next one.
11User testing
A testing technique where real users try a solution and give feedback, helping identify usability issues before release
12project log
A record of each work session: the date, what was done, any problems and the next step. It shows actual progress against the plan and evidences why the plan changed.
13Version history
A tool in a shared folder that records who changed a file and when, so you can view earlier versions and restore one. Clear names with dates or version numbers help too, like Plan_v2_2025-03-14.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Hangman runs straight from this page — no account, no sign-up, nothing to install. If you add your class names, they are saved in your own browser and never sent to Cloodit.

How do I play it with my class?

Put the page on your whiteboard or projector and press Play. The class calls out letters and you click or type them. Six wrong letters and the word gets away. After every word its definition appears, so each round ends on the meaning, not just the spelling.

Can I use my own words?

Yes. The free Hangman generator at cloodit.com/hangman/ takes any list: one word or phrase per line, with a definition after a dash if you want it shown at the end of the round.

Can I put my students' names in?

Yes. Add your class list and a random student is called for each word. The list stays in this browser on this computer, so it is still there next lesson.

Are the worksheets free too?

Yes. Every module in this journey has a free printable worksheet with a full answer key, and there are crosswords and word searches built from the same key terms.
