What robotics is
The branch of computer science that covers the design, construction and operation of robots.
Understanding What robotics is in IGCSE Computer Science Paper 1
What it does: The arrow shows robotics as part of computer science, not a separate subject. The three stages in order show the full scope of robotics: design, then construction, then operation. Planning what the robot is like and which parts it needs is the design stage. Using the robot to carry out its tasks is operation. Construction is building it. Robotics is the subject area. A robot is one machine that robotics produces.
Common mistakes: Robotics covers the design of robots, not cooking. Line 2 should be OUTPUT "design". The & joining operator is missing before field. It should be OUTPUT topic & " in " & field.
