Understanding Making a class online agreement in ACARA Digital Technologies Years 5–6
What it does: This rule shows how classmates agree to speak to each other, which is a key part of the agreement. The agreement works because everyone signs or agrees to it, and the whole class helps write it. Personal details and passphrases stay private. A good agreement protects what we share. Respectful rules include being kind and asking first. A photo of someone else needs their OK. Telling a trusted adult helps fix a problem fast. Keeping it secret can make it worse. A clear rule says exactly what to do. 'Be good' is too vague to help anyone. The agreement is for everyone to use. We follow it and ask for help when needed.
Common mistakes: An agreement says what to do if something goes wrong. We tell a teacher or trusted adult. We do not keep it secret. It should say: 3. Tell a teacher if upset. Passphrases must stay private, even from friends. The rule should say: - Keep passphrases private.
