Real-time monitoring and notification
Continuously checking network activity as it happens and immediately alerting the right people when a threat is detected.
Understanding Real-time monitoring and notification in VCE Cyber Security
What it does: This code keeps monitoring switched on so activity is checked continuously. This code triggers a notification the moment an anomaly is found. Continuous checking is what allows threats to be caught as soon as they occur. Real-time monitoring checks activity as it happens, rather than after a full day has passed. Delaying notifications defeats the purpose of real-time detection and response. Immediate notification lets staff respond to threats while they're still unfolding. Without notifications, detected threats go unnoticed even if monitoring is still running. Turning off monitoring stops the system from detecting or reacting to new threats.
Common mistakes: Line 1 disables monitoring, so real-time notification never gets triggered. Line 2 skips the activity check needed before deciding whether to notify.
