What a ledger record contains
One entry in a ledger that states who sent the money (sender), who received it (receiver) and how much was sent (amount). Each transaction gets its own record.
Understanding What a ledger record contains in IGCSE Computer Science Paper 1
What it does: This one line shows all three parts: Ava is the sender, Liam is the receiver and 10 is the amount. There are two separate transactions, so the ledger has two separate records, one on each line. A ledger record states who sent the money, who received it and how much was sent. The receiver is the person who gets the money. Ava is the sender. The amount is how much was sent. Ben is the receiver, not the amount. The second record has no receiver, so we cannot tell who got the money. Who sent the money is the sender. The amount is the value sent.
Common mistakes: The comment says Zoe sends the money, so Zoe is the sender. The line should be sender: Zoe. Max is the receiver. The transaction sends 8 coins, so the amount in the record must be 8. The line should be amount: 8.
