In plain words
- The free tools (Hangman, the name wheel, team generator, seating plan, Bingo and the printable worksheets) don't need an account.
- Names you type into those tools stay on your own computer. We don't send them to our servers.
- We count how many people use each page, but not who they are.
- If you make an account or join a class, we keep your name, your email (teachers) and your game progress so the class page works.
- We don't sell anything about you, and we don't show ads.
- Want something deleted, or have a question? Use the Contact page.
Who we are
Cloodit is a learning site for classrooms. This page explains what the site collects and why. To reach us, use the Contact page.
The free tools
Class lists, seating plans, Bingo cards and similar things you set up are saved in your browser's own storage on the computer you used. They don't leave that computer. You can remove a list with Forget this list on this computer, and the seating plan has a button to delete all of its saved data. Clearing your browser's site data removes everything.
When you print or play, we receive anonymous counts such as "a worksheet was printed with 24 copies". These never include a name or any text you typed.
Accounts, classes and progress
- Teachers give a name, an email address and a password. We use these to sign you in and show your classes.
- Students join with a class code and give a first name. We store that name, the class they joined and the progress and scores from their activities, so the teacher can see how the class is doing.
- Data is stored with our hosting providers (Supabase for the database, Vercel for the website) and is kept while the account or class exists.
Cookies and similar storage
| Name | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
| cid | A random number that lets us count visitors without knowing who they are. | 1 year |
| cft | Where a visitor first arrived from (page, referrer, rough country), so we can see which pages help teachers find us. | 1 year |
| Browser storage | Your class list, settings, sign-in and saved progress on your own computer. | Until you clear it |
We don't set the cid and cft cookies for visitors in the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein.
Children
Teachers decide whether their students use Cloodit. We collect as little as we can about students: a first name and their activity in the class. Student pages have no public profiles, no chat and no adverts.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you or your class. Use the Contact page. Teachers can also delete their account from within the site.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top.
