=IFERROR(value, value_if_error) — Runs a formula and shows your chosen value, like 0 or "Not found", if it gives an error. Use it carefully, because it can also hide real mistakes.
Combo chart — A chart that mixes types, like columns plus a line, and puts one series on a secondary axis so two data sets with different units, such as sales and temperature, can be read together.
=QUARTILE.INC(B2:B100,1) — Finds Q1, the value 25% of the way up the data. Use 3 for Q3. IQR = Q3 - Q1. A value more than 1.5 times the IQR below Q1 or above Q3 is flagged as an outlier.
SLOPE and INTERCEPT — SLOPE gives m and INTERCEPT gives c of the best-fit line, so a prediction can be written as y = m*x + c. Both functions take known_y first, then known_x.
Rows, Columns, Values, Filters — The four areas of the PivotTable field list. Drag a field into one to lay out the summary: Rows and Columns label it, Values calculates, Filters narrows the data.
Value Field Settings — A pivot table option that changes what is calculated for each group, such as Sum, Count or Average. It can also show values as a % of column total and set the number format.
Group — A pivot table feature that bundles dates into months or years, or numbers into equal-sized ranges, so the summary shows useful chunks. Right-click a value, then choose Group.
PivotChart — A chart linked to a pivot table. It updates whenever you change the pivot table's fields or filters. Create it with Insert > PivotChart.
Insert > Slicer — Adds a panel of buttons for one field. Click a button to filter the pivot table and its pivot chart. Hold Ctrl to select several buttons at once.
Insert > Timeline — A timeline slicer filters a pivot table by dragging along a date range. Pick months, quarters or years from the time level drop-down. It needs a date field.
